Strength TogetHER 30 - My favorites

My Favorites Lokopakar in collaboration with NIRI (Nexus Institute for Research and Innovation) has started a project to complete Strength TogetHER sessions at 10 public schools in Nepal. On July 22, 2022 Lokopakar conducted the seventh session of Strength TogetHER sessions for girls studying in Grade 9 and 10 at Shree Shaheed Shukra Secondary School on the topic “My Favorites”. The participants wanted to share their favorite person and things in their life. Our first participant shared that her favorite person in life is her father who currently lives in Saudi Arabia .He doesn’t say NO to anything that she says and is very supportive. And her favorite thing is Dog. Our second participant added that her favorite person is her mother’s sister, aunt. She currently lives in Dubai and is her first best friend. She misses her. Untold Stories Lokopakar in collaboration with NIRI (Nexus Institute for Research and Innovation) has started a project to complete Strength TogetHER sessions at 10 public schools in Nepal. On July 20, 2022 Lokopakar conducted the fifth session of Strength TogetHER sessions for girls studying in Grade 9 and 10 at Shree Shaheed Shukra Secondary School on the topic “Untold Stories”. The participants wanted to share their stories that they hadn’t shared with anyone. Our first participant shared how her mother gave her money to buy pens for school, but instead she ate outside with that money and didn’t tell anyone. “I had my period but I don’t know why I felt awkward telling my mother. So, I didn’t tell about it for 1 month and later she found out herself ”, shared one of our participants.   Regrets in Life Lokopakar in collaboration with NIRI (Nexus Institute for Research and Innovation) has started a project to complete Strength TogetHER sessions at 10 public schools in Nepal. On July 20, 2022 Lokopakar conducted the fifth session of Strength TogetHER sessions for girls studying in Grade 9 and 10 at Shree Shaheed Shukra Secondary School on the topic “Untold Stories”. The participants wanted to share their regrets that they have till date in the session. Our 1st participant shared how her teacher had given them two sets to practice for the exams. She practiced very hard from Set 2 thinking the question would come from that in the exam. But unfortunately the question came from Set 1. She got very few marks in the exam and regretted a lot for not practicing that set. Our next participant shared that it was her Mama’s new shop opening but she didn’t want to go. My Sadness Lokopakar in collaboration with NIRI (Nexus Institute for Research and Innovation) has started a project to complete Strength TogetHER sessions at 10 public schools in Nepal. On July 18, 2022 Lokopakar conducted the third session of Strength TogetHER sessions for girls studying in Grade 9 and 10 at Shree Shaheed Shukra Secondary School on the topic “My Sadness.” Our first participant shared that she gets sad when her mother gets depressed or is in tension. Her father scolds her mother and that is when she gets sad as well.  Another participant shared that she used to live in her village before. She was around 8 or 9 years old at that time, and they had adopted a dog. The dog got pregnant one day and gave birth to many puppies. She wanted to keep them all but her parents told that it's better to give the female puppies away as they were not needed. My Small Happiness Lokopakar in collaboration with NIRI (Nexus Institute for Research and Innovation) has started a project to complete Strength TogetHER sessions at 10 public schools in Nepal. On July 15, 2022 Lokopakar conducted the second session of Strength TogetHER sessions for girls studying in Grade 9 and 10 at Shree Shaheed Shukra Secondary School on the topic “My Small Happiness”. “When I help people I feel happy”. One day she was walking on the road, and she saw one person crying in the street. Everyone was ignoring him and he was being ignored by everyone. He said he had no money. She gave her the money and with that money they ate the food. This was one of the small happiness for her. Our participant says she is a coke lover. And when her mother brings coke home she feels really happy. She is really happy to receive coke from her mother which is her small happiness.
